Ada Ovitt is a senior at Albuquerque Academy and helped found the Albuquerque Academy Climate Club, which later was subsumed into the Environmental Club, in eighth grade. Within the club, she has helped to reimplement composting in the school’s cafeterias, start an environmental issues speaker series at the school, and organize a field trip to the New Mexico Roundhouse to learn about environmental legislation. Her love of hiking and the outdoors has inspired her passion for environmental issues, and she wants to help ensure a future in which her generation as well as everyone who comes after it can thrive. She hopes that future generations will not have to worry about environmental issues in the same way that young people do today, and she is excited to work with Talking Talons to help make youth voices heard in the environmental movement.
