Amy Mathis

Environmental Educator

Amy graduated from New Mexico Tech with a BS in Geology.  She also holds a BFA in music and theater from Kutztown University.  Amy has been a lifelong outdoor enthusiast with a focus on camping, backpacking, and hiking.  She has been a dedicated instructor for local Cub Scout and Boy Scout organizations on Maui and here in Albuquerque.  Amy has taught outdoor education to youth ages 4-17 with concentrations on wild edible and medicinal plants, birds, ecology, conservation, orienteering, and leave-no-trace principles.  Her other interests include cross-country skiing, gardening, and music.  She looks forward to engaging in today’s youth to get them fired up for all things nature and to make a positive difference in the future of our planet.
