In John’s own words, “I’ve left this life. Cancer. I didn’t want to leave without saying goodbye. You were my friends. Some from way back, some more recent. You were an important part of my life’s journey and for that, I thank you.”

John was more than a leader to many—he was a mentor, a visionary, and a friend. His compassion, humor, and steadfast belief in the mission of Talking Talons Youth Leadership inspired everyone around him. The programs he nurtured and the lives he touched will continue to grow and flourish because of the foundation he helped build. 

As he leaves this world, John asks that all of us truly commit to how we value and treat children. It is our job to protect and nurture those young souls, especially as they face such a challenging future.
